Positioning Lock-In

What should I do?

For when you know you want to go solo, but not yet what you would do. Three sessions to find the idea, test it with people who might pay for it, and lock in who it is for and what problem it solves.

You can do a lot of things well. That is the problem.

You have twenty years behind you. You are good at a lot of things, and you think all of them bring something to the table.

I did too. I was a senior HR business partner at Credit Suisse. Talent development, workforce strategy, recruitment, compensation, performance management, employee relations. All of it interesting, and all of it work I could genuinely do.

Put everything down and it is like putting down nothing. Nobody can tell what problem you solve.

What you leave with

  • A clear view of what you could do, from a wider view of what is possible.
  • One idea, chosen from what people already come to you for.
  • Tested with three people who might pay for it, before you build anything.
  • Your positioning in one sentence: who it is for and the problem it solves.
  • Four lines on who it is not for, which is the harder half.

Sometimes the conversations say not this, or not yet. That is a result too, and a much cheaper one to find out in three weeks than after a year of building the wrong thing.

From people I have worked with one to one

After decades in senior leadership, returning to the job market felt like navigating an entirely different world.

Lisa's guidance has been pivotal for me. She provided the frank, honest feedback I needed to successfully re-position my executive profile.

Her ability to challenge conventional thinking while offering practical and modern strategies is a rare find.

Ather Islam Global Technology and Infrastructure Leader. CIO, CTO, IT Director. Client, May 2026.

I can recommend Lisa for anyone who needs input in their professional career, being next steps discussions or managing difficult situations.

Thomas Meier Managing Director, Head of Group Functions Reward, UBS.

I worked with Lisa on a recent career move and I couldn't recommend her more. Her previous corporate experience combined with excellent coaching and mentoring skills add huge value for anyone taking and acting on a major career decision. I will also continue working with Lisa in my new role.

Why me

In 2025, I was where you are now. Starting to think about what to focus on: what would people pay for, what did I want to do, and what could I actually do. Sixteen years in banking behind me, Head of Technology HR at Credit Suisse, then technology reward at UBS during the integration, and a chartered management accountant besides. None of it handed me the answer. I started my own practice in January 2026, and this was the first thing I had to work out, too.

Already worked with senior leaders from UBS, HSBC, Citi, Marsh, London Stock Exchange Group, Roche, Philip Morris International, Huawei and Galderma.

Ranked #2 in Switzerland for Solopreneur & Creator Business on LinkedIn (Favikon, September 2026).

How it works

Session one

What is possible, and what people already come to you for

The shapes a solo practice can take, and what one person can now carry with an AI workforce. Then the evidence in your own history, not a list of what sounds good. You leave with a shortlist of two or three.

Session two

Pick one, and what you will not do again

One direction, one person it is for, one problem it solves. You leave with three people to talk to before we meet again.

Between sessions

Three real conversations

With people who already know you. You never message a stranger.

Session three

Lock it in

Keep it, change it or drop it, on what those conversations said. Then your positioning in one sentence, and who it is not for.

After

The Studio, if you want it

You arrive knowing what you are building. CHF 500 comes off your seat, group or one to one. The 12-Week Studio begins 12 January 2027.

This is for you if

  • You have decided you want your own practice, and you cannot yet say what it would be.
  • You can list ten things you are good at and have no idea which one is a business.
  • You have an idea, but you describe it differently every time somebody asks.
  • You are still employed and want to know what you would do before you hand anything in.

This is not for you if

  • You already know what you would sell. Go straight to the Studio.
  • You want your offer and price built. That comes next, in the Studio.
  • You want an AI workforce now. A workforce cannot run a practice you have not decided.
  • You want it done for you. You do the thinking and the conversations, and I tell you whether it holds.

I'm currently working with Lisa as I navigate my next career move, and I can't recommend her highly enough. Drawing on her corporate experience and coaching skills, Lisa brings valuable insight, perspective, and guidance to important career decisions. Her attention to detail and clarity of vision are exceptional. I look forward to continuing to work with Lisa beyond this transition, as she has become a trusted partner in helping me shape and navigate my longer-term career path.

Vasileios Sakellariou Enterprise Sales Leader, telecoms and cloud. Client, August 2026.

She brought an independent, outside read on my experience and how it holds up in the market, a well-benchmarked perspective that's hard to get from inside your own network. She was also a sharp sounding board, pressure-testing my thinking and sharpening how I frame my work across my CV, LinkedIn, and conversations with hiring managers. Structured sessions, clear written follow-ups, and direct, practical advice throughout.

Questions

“Is this the same as the free masterclass?”

No. The masterclass on 3 November shows you where to start in ninety minutes. This is where you actually do it, on your own history, with real conversations in between.

“Can I do this while I am still employed?”

Yes. Three sessions, and the work in between is thinking and three conversations. If you miss a group session, the recording is there.

“What if the group does not fill?”

It runs with four or more. If fewer than four book, you get your money back in full, or you move to one to one and pay the difference.

What should I do? Three sessions, and you will know.
