Notes on Corporate to Solo. Free, every Wednesday. Sign up

Where on earth to start when becoming a solopreneur, and where AI actually helps

Ninety minutes for people thinking about leaving corporate, or who have already left. Not for anyone looking for their next role.

Free. Tuesday 10 November, 12:00 Zurich, 11:00 UK. 90 minutes on Zoom.

You leave with one thing to test, and what you are doing this week to test it.

If this is roughly where you are

  • You are reading and watching everything and you still do not know where to start.
  • You know exactly how it works inside a company. You have a senior title. And outside, nobody knows who you are.
  • You keep chatting to Claude about your ideas and it cannot tell you what to do.
  • You have explored a few options and you are not sure what really moves the needle.

None of that is a discipline problem. It is what happens when nothing has been chosen yet.

What you walk away with

One thing to test, and what you are doing this week to test it. Not a plan, not a framework to fill in later. One decision and one action.

  • Why your list is that long. It is not discipline and it is not you. There is a structural reason for it and it takes five minutes to explain.
  • How to pick the one thing to test first. Not by thinking harder about it. There is evidence you already have and have not looked at.
  • Where AI actually helps, shown live. I will ask my own agent the three questions against my own history, on the call. Nobody builds anything.

Tuesday 10 November, 12:00 Zurich. Free.

Save my seat

This is for you if:

You have ten years or more of real depth in something.

You are leaving corporate, or you have left.

You intend to sell what you know rather than take another job.

This is not for you if:

You are looking for your next role.

You are expecting me to build a business for you.

Who is running this

Sixteen years in banking. Head of Technology HR at Credit Suisse, then technology reward at UBS, during the integration. For most of that time my job was to know what people were worth.

I did my Bachelors degree in Management and technology at the University of York, qualified as a chartered management accountant and completed the L7 Strategic HR diploma from CIPD. I also did the CIPD's AI for HR qualification because I wanted to know what I was talking about rather than repeat what I had read.

Then I left, and I could not answer a much simpler question than the ones I had been answering for a living. What do I sell, and who to.

This session is the part I wished someone had just told me.

I am not going to add anything to your list. Everything in this ninety minutes makes it shorter.
