About

My Corporate to Solo journey

Twenty years working to someone else's rhythm. Then I put my own hand up.

I put my own hand up

The redundancies were coming. I could see the shape of them, because I had spent the merger watching how those decisions got made. So I volunteered.

Four more people in my team went after me.

That is the whole reason I do this now. I spent years watching who decided who stayed. Then I had to answer the same question about myself, with nothing behind me.

Head of Technology HR at Credit Suisse, through the first six months after the merger was announced. Then head of technology reward at UBS, during the integration.

So I built my own

For twenty years I was always working for someone else, always working to someone else's rhythm. Someone else decided what the year looked like, and someone else decided what I was worth at the end of it.

I did not want to be in a position again where I took a role because I needed it rather than because I wanted it. So I created my own.

Today I work for myself. My own rules, my own hours.

I got several things wrong in the first year and I write about those too, including the parts that are not flattering.

I want to help you do the same.

What I am not

Not a lawyer, your accountant or a financial adviser, and I will say so on a call rather than after you have paid for a second one.

Not a coach, although coaching happens. What I do is closer to being the person in the room who has seen this before and will tell you what they think you should do.

From her clients

She brought an independent, outside read on my experience and how it holds up in the market, a well-benchmarked perspective that's hard to get from inside your own network. She was also a sharp sounding board, pressure-testing my thinking and sharpening how I frame my work across my CV, LinkedIn, and conversations with hiring managers. Structured sessions, clear written follow-ups, and direct, practical advice throughout.
PeterExecutive Director
I initially connected with Lisa because her insights on the challenges of the modern workplace resonated deeply with my own experience. After decades in senior leadership, returning to the job market felt like navigating an entirely different world. Lisa's guidance has been pivotal for me. She provided the frank, honest feedback I needed to successfully re-position my executive profile. Her ability to challenge conventional thinking while offering practical and modern strategies is a rare find. For any senior leader looking to rediscover their purpose and navigate a major career pivot with confidence, Lisa is an invaluable partner.
