Does posting on LinkedIn actually get you clients? How often to post as a consultant

Post three times a week. No wait, five times. No, post every day.

Everyone has a number for you. You can do any of those and still not know what you are going to say.

I posted nearly two hundred times in the first nine months of 2026. At the start I sat down on a Sunday with a blank page, picking whatever had happened that week. Some of it did well. It never led anywhere, because I was not clear where people should go.

So I introduced a system

Every post links to one letter of my S.I.M.P.L.E. method and covers one of four pillars, which are already assigned to each day of the week. That is it.

  • Mindset and beliefs, Monday and Tuesday: the fears and doubts of the people I write for.
  • Expertise and education, Wednesday: this week's letter.
  • Building, Thursday: a story about building the business, building in action.
  • Credibility, Friday: something only I can say, because I have lived it. This is also where a sales ask lives.

I sometimes post something personal on a Sunday too, but that is not a hard and fast rule.

Sunday is no longer a blank page. The letter is already chosen, and I am only picking the angle for that day.

The number comes last

That is the M in S.I.M.P.L.E.: Message. Build a simple content strategy, one you do not have to overthink and one you will keep to. Decide where every post is sending people first. Then pick a number you can actually sustain.

The longer version is here: how to build a content strategy without a content calendar.
